To be eligible for the program, students must be rising high school juniors, high school seniors, or college freshmen. At the workshop, students will learn how to understand, analyze, interpret and discuss real-world applications of data science and machine learning with the ultimate goal of understanding impactful technology decisions.
Changemakers in Computing CIC is a new virtual summer program for high school students to learn about technology, society, and justice. Students can benefit from a supportive community of peers and mentors, working on meaningful tech projects, and direct mentorship from college students studying technology. The Ubicomp Lab invites a select number of high school students from the Seattle area to conduct an intense 8-week long research project during the summer.
Shwetak Patel created this program because of his own participation in research when he was in high school and the incredible experience it provided for his career path.

Students will develop technical coding skills to build their own websites and create data visualizations, and apply creativity in interactive coding tournaments.
Throughout the program, students will benefit from a supportive and inclusive student and mentor community to explore Computer Science topics including UX Design, Data Science, and Career Development.

The Architecture Discovery Program ADP is an exciting introduction to architecture and design for high school students. Our rigorous two-week program offers intensive individualized instruction by Sam Fox School faculty.
Design Studio, the heart of the program, drives creativity and discovery to foster passion and compassion in design. This course is complemented by Architectural Drawing which teaches students how to observe the world around them and communicate through drawing.
Projects introduce the design thinking process and sustainability in architecture. The explorations carried out provide students with high quality pieces to add to your design portfolios. In the Portfolio Plus Program , high school students take college-level art and design courses that highlight the major tracks offered in the Sam Fox School. Students will spend mornings learning the fundamentals of drawing and afternoons pursuing a studio concentration of choice: communication design, fashion design, or studio art.
With guidance from Sam Fox School faculty, students will work throughout our intensive three-week program to develop strong portfolios for college admission. The program includes intensive math training and an introduction to engineering careers and research. This includes a three-week math scholars camp for rising high school freshmen as well as an after-school bridge program, a MESA class for sophomores at participating high schools, and Saturday Academy for Juniors and Seniors.
Juniors in Saturday Academy are exposed to a variety of career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math while Seniors are assisted with SAT prep and their college applications. The Camp BIOmed program is a summer internship program for high school students entering 10thth grade that includes tours of a variety of research institutions, and introduction to research careers, and bioethics coursework.
The Student BioExpo allows high school students to get creative and explore biosciences while showcasing their knowledge in the expo through a variety of presentation styles. Youth Ethics Summit is an opportunity for high school students to engage in discussions about the ethical issues inherent in scientific research.
