Reporting directly to the AVP for Alumni Relations, the director oversees the largest single alumni volunteer effort at Penn to promote outreach to prospective students through the alumni network while providing important information to the Office of Admissions on applicants.
Job Description The Director will have proven knowledge and experience in comprehensive alumni relations programs, volunteer management, the college selection process, and supervising staff to direct a coordinated alumni interviewing effort to engage thousands of alumni and support Penn's outreach to prospective and current applicants.
Responsibilities: Direct, develop, manage, and promote the Penn Alumni Interview Program, a national and international group of Penn alumni who act as representatives of the University in conducting interviews with prospective students, answering questions and serving as ambassadors to Penn. Oversee strategy, planning and implementation of all activity related to the Penn Alumni Interview Program including volunteer recruitment, training and stewardship — with a deliberate focus on involvement and engagement of diverse alumni.

If I was thinking while nervous, it was pro bably better not to have thought at all. My approach to interviews back in high school had been pretty cavalier. I would be myself, basically, and if they liked me — they liked me. I had searched for resources online, I had asked seniors before me for suggestions, I had practiced questions in a mirror.
So at the very least, I did try. Sleep suddenly seems like a viable option once again. Did I know why I wanted to apply to UPenn? Did I know what I foresaw for myself on campus? Three words to describe myself? You see why this later came to bite me in the butt; I had big-picture directions for where I wanted to go, which was fine and dandy.
But an interview is about talking. And talking is something very specific and very concrete. I had to arrange words together in a coherent way that expressed my big ideas, ideally in a way that made me sound competent. For context, this story happened mid-January. I had just sent away some of my applications but was still wading through the last few — and this was on top of all of my extracurriculars and schoolwork.
I was perpetually tired. School started at seven for me, and I often worked late into the early A. It just so happened that the only day that Allison and I could settle on was a Thursday. Even after caffeinating, I still looked like death incarnate, and I was just barely functional for all of that day. I really should have.

The Penn interview is designed to be a fresh conversation between two interested and interesting but previously unknown individuals. Where to go All virtual interviews are conducted using Zoom, Google Hangout, other similar chat software, or by phone.
What to wear While the interview will be conducted virtually, dress as you would for a school photograph or a presentation in class.
What to Bring Just yourself. Your passions, personal story, and questions will bring the conversation to life. Note that international applicants may be asked to bring additional documents.
The conversation will focus on your interests, as well as your decision to apply to Penn. The interview will also include time for you to ask questions.
