Is my motherboard a newer version than 98SE is not capable to run on. As I mentioned when I installed 98SE and it was looking for drivers it appears anything to do with networking and communication were not there. Video, audio, USB, keyboard, mouse etc were all enabled. Is this because 98SE is too old to have any of these drivers preloaded?
If so can I just load these drivers "After". A Deskpro EN will run Windows 98 just fine. That was THE operating system when it was out. What speed PIII processor? That will determine exactly which drivers.
Ok Thanks for the info. The drivers for the Network Adapter were there. For example, drivers for files I recognized such as tracert. When starting 98 for the first time, my screen size was as though it was in Safe Mode, and trying to move the slider to a higher resolution would'nt work.

Thanks a ton. Would love to be in touch as I am a regular Win 98SE user courtesy my home recording setup that I started in I think my problem had to do with the usb I was using. I just picked up the cheapest 4gb one i could find at a nearby store and voila! Every time I try to open it a windows pops up asking me to format it. I get the windows telling me to format again. Thank you again. It tries to boot up ok but runs into a stop that displays tht it has found the USB port and needs a driver for it.
