The donor of any ICT equipment must show documentary evidence of ownership of the equipment before acceptance of the donation. Any donated ICT equipment must be of a standard and specification that makes it fit for its intended use within the school, as assessed by the school technician.
Donation of network equipment, such as routers, modems and switches, is not permitted. Where the ICT equipment is equipped with data storage, the data storage is to subject to an enterprise wipe to remove all previously held data. All software installed on the ICT equipment, including operating system software, is to be removed and replaced with software that is licensed to the Department or the school.
Acceptance of any donated ICT equipment must not be contingent on payment of any future hardware maintenance charges to the donor or entities associated with the donor. Acceptance of any donated ICT equipment is contingent on there being no identified cybersecurity vulnerabilities introduced by the intended use of the equipment, as assessed by the school technician.
