New ping g15 driver reviews

Although I've recently fallen in love with one of the company's newly-released Scottsdale putters, I've never really been much of a "PING person. I wanted to see if it was as long, as forgiving, as accurate - as all-around wonderful - as the buzz was claiming. This thing just might be the most forgiving driver PING has ever developed. The face of the driver is slightly larger than the face of the G10, the head has been lengthened from front to back, and the weight saved by using an ultra-thin crown has been repositioned in an external sole weight.

These changes give the club a higher Moment of Inertia MOI , greater consistency across the hitting surface, and a center of gravity that is optimized to reduce spin and produce higher trajectories. Taken together, they promote greater ball speed and forgiveness, increasing the potential for longer, more accurate drives. I've never been impressed with the looks of PING's clubs, but this one is different. Its black crown has a subtle alignment aid, its sole is silver, black and red, and its two shaft choices are in coordinating shades of red and gray.

The confidence that a beautiful looking club inspires in us before we hit a shot down a tight fairway can be crucial. PING never made it into my bag for that reason alone. The G15 is different though. The result is a driver that both performs and looks great. If PINGs designs have always caused you to shy away, perhaps now is the time for you to take another look. Great review. Your comment on the draw bias is dead on.

This allows me to really go after the ball. I also dropped from a I love my It is so nice to read a review that is not constrained by space or impacted by agenda. One more thought, your comment on the sound at impact was what I experienced as well.

It reminds me of a whip cracking. While this may not affect distance, it surely affects confidence. I was wondering if you have reviewed the Rapture V2 like you did the G15 and if so which got the better review? Had a chance to hit one of these with the Avixcore UST shaft in it… very nice feel and sound. Was able to really swing at it and get more distance without losing the shot. The 3-wood, also with the UST Avixcore shaft, was an awsome club as well.

Titlesit has some serious competition with this line-up. I love mine! I have the 12 degree soft regular, and wow the difference in distance to my old driver is amazing. Still keep ing up with the big hitters in my club. Looking forward to reading the reviews for the rest of the G and i series woods and irons.

I currently have the i15 irons and love them. Best review I have ever read, Congratulations! Differences in playability? I hear the stock TFC is an amazing shaft with the g head. Do you think I should trade it in and top up some cash for the Ping G15 or its not a major difference? I also got one yesterday — got it with my favorite shaft the PL Axis Red.

I have always been an inconsistent driver and I never know where the ball will be going when I look up on my follow-through. Generally though it is a right push and gets me into trees and other hassles which take strokes off my score. The G15 though just kept going long and straight. By the end of the round I started to relax and that made me hit it even better. I used it on holes where I would normally take my 4 wood for accuracy and I was even straighter. This club will definitely lower my score!

Have the G complete set for 3 yrs. Will purchase the G driver in 3 days. Have used their demo g driver and absolutel love it I added 20 yards with this club. I wasnt fitted 4 the g 15 but was with my g10 clubs. The feel of the g15 driver great. I also agree that they have made the clubs look alot better.

Have been playing Titleist D2, but gave fitter brand flexibility. Adams Speedline dropped the spin rate and picked up 15 yards or so. Fitter had a thought.

Very tight dispersion shot after shot. Spin around Picked up a total of 24 yards over my current D2 Strongly recommend getting fitted. Pay the money. Find a fitter with a Trackman unit. I play the rapture driver first one , and was wondering if the G15 can be my next one. Has anyone out there previosly owned a rapture driver and what the conclusions compared to the g15 were. Any comments are welcome. I owned the Rapture and now have the G driver…I highly recomennd it. Much more forgiving and I hit an additonal 20 yards farther.

I have hit both the I15 and the G I had the most consistent hits ever. I did not like the TFC shaft at all. It seems like the grip is larger on the Serrano but not really sure.

It seems to fit better in my hand. With the Serrsano shaft the kick point is unreal for me. My SS was and had launch angle. Spin was Could not achieve these numbers with any Titlelist or TM drivers. How does the Serrano compare to the TFC in flex? Definately prefer the TFC in stiff. Just interested how the Serrano Reg vs Stiff would compare. I bought a stock G with the ping shaft a couple of months ago.

I has a Nike Sasquatch before that. It is hard to hit it anything but straight and I think I have picked up yards over the Nike. I love this club. It hits high and long but you can lower the ball flight by changing the ball position a little. Definitely a keeper. I just got fitted for the G15 5 days ago…went with the 9 degree…hit alot of balls with the Club felt awsome and can not wait till it comes in and I can take it to myrtle beach with me in march.

I have seen the G15 in the pro shop. Have not taken one to the range to try out just yet. I am only commenting on the asthetics looks. From what I see this appears to be almost an exact copy of the Mizuno MX driver. The shape of the head, the face height, shape and heel to toe apperance of the face look identical to the MX The only diffrence I can tell between the two from a looks standpoint is that one has the Mizuno name and graphics and the other has the PING name and graphics.

Other than that they look like they were made from the same mold so to speak. It felt so solid, yet effortless. Then hit a Hit it on the range, and it has added around 20 yards to my distance. It took a little while to become accustomed to the additional shaft length, but once I figured it out it was without a doubt the best driver I have ever hit. I have a Ping G 15 and love it. It is the GolfSpy-I appreciate your comments and it all holds true, except for the adjustability factor.

Last time I looked you cannot adjust your club during a round, only before or after. I have hit the G15 and all the others and the ones I personally like best do not have the adjustability factor.

Well just like early comment about when bigger heads began to come out they were looked down upon…but in time you will see that it is the preferred technology. Yes we all know you cannot adjust during the round that is not what we were referring to. But we all go through tendencies over a season of having days where we draw the ball more or fade the ball more.

This has saved them a fair amount of money in regards to development costs. Why would anyone use an adjustable driver? None of the other clubs are adjustable and as a plus handicap player I never saw much effect in adjusting the weights.

I think Tom Kite said somrthing like, hit a few practise balls to find out which way the ball is going that day and go play. And your reasoning makes no sense to me. Just because other clubs are not adjustable is your reasoning for not having any club adjustable?? If there was no benefit to it then every club company would not be following in the others footsteps. I like this driver a bunch too. For whatever reason, it is the only one that makes my Nike nervous.

Glad you like it David…we are going to review the i15 soon and give a more in depth results for you guys. Great review fellas. I was debating on whether or not to pull the trigger on this one and you have convinced me to do so. I purchased the G15 a few weeks ago and now have 4 rounds of hitting with it. Prior to my purchase, I had hit with it about 5 times on the simulator, where it was far and away the best driver that I have tested in terms of carry distance.

One factor is that the weather in Canada is a bit cooler now, and this affects the carry distance significantly. I think its appearance is very good, and the wider look helps to give confidence of a solid hit. Perhaps a link at the end of the review that would take the user to a page where they could find all of the details of the tests would be cool.

That way it wont deter someone from reading the review but the guys who want to know exactly how it matched up against other clubs and for what players, they will be able to see that. To a technical person like myself, unless you have the data to prove it, a review is no better than marketing from the company itself.

I find that golf sites and magazines Mygolfspy may be included tend not to want to list results like this for fear that it might portray any of their potential advertisers in a less than desirable way. For example, what if the Titleist D2 came in 12th out of 15th.

Or their Cobra product outperforms the more expensive Titleist product. All of a sudden Titleist would prefer not to advertise with MyGolfSpy and possibly exert pressure on their subsidiaries or companies that they influence to avoid MyGolfSpy. I am not saying this is what is preventing MyGolfSpy from publishing detailed results, but it is a golf industry problem with so few vendors. Putters Wedges. Driver Fairway Wood Hybrid Putter.
